The Vladimir Propp film structure focused more around the characters. The characters are directly linked to the plot. His theory  applies to the film Star Wars a new hope. A New Hope came out in 1977 and is a sci-fi adventure epic. The Vladimir Propp theory  focuses more around the charters then  the plot. He thinks that the narrative structures is determined by the characters.

1.The structure begins with the the villain that struggle against the hero. The new hope the hero of the film is Luke and the villain would be Darth Vader but at the beginning they haven't met yet so in this case the hero that the villain struggles against would be the rebellion.

2. The donor  is meant to prepare , train or give hero some shot of magical object. Obi Wan Kenobi is the donor who helps Luke and hands him Luke a lightsaber which would be the magical object. In star wars Luke doesn't use the lightsaber until the next film. The donor can also be Han Solo and his spaceship maybe the magical object.

3.The magical helper Obi wan is meant to help the hero on his quest.

4. The princess in Vladimir Propps theory is meant to marry the hero but in star wars princess Leia is actually Luke's brother but the audience doeskin know this yet. so people watching this at the time might think that the story was going down that path. you can see Luke lusting over her at least once n the film.

5.The father of the princess is Darth Vader but when you don't know that yet as an audience member. So Darth Vader as a father is irrelevant to the story.

6.The dispatcher is meant to be the character who make the task. In Star Wars there not really a character like this . You could say that this is obi wan but in the film you hear him say that he doesn't want the Luke to do anything like that.

 7.The hero then reacts to the to the donor getting married to the princess which doesn't apply to this
film because this film chooses not to follow any romance because it takes away fro the action

8.The film is meant to climax with false hero taking the credit for the hero work which doesn't happen in star wars because all the main characters of the film are seen as heroes

Magazine Article   Venom has been out for just over a week now and its been getting massive attraction in the media. The film seems to have the fans split in the middle. Critics seem to really dislike it for its plot holes and the portrayal of venom whereas the general public seems to really enjoy the film and think its a fun ride start to end. My personal opinion on the film is that its not very good. The pacing of the film is very slow at the beginning and the portrayal of venom is very disappointing who is presented as a "loser". You don't see or understand the motivations  for some of the charters and why they do what they do. The film falls with a lot of its cringe dialogue and the arational bad one liners. The action was very dark and hard to see at some points especially toward the end.
